Description of Figure 2-4. Use of CM Based on Software Class

This figure is a pie chart representing the use of configuration management based on the software class of the TMS system. This shows that agencies are much more likely to use CM if their system uses custom software. There are 7 sections of the pie:

  • 8 custom software packages, for which the agency owns the source code
  • 2 custom software packages, for which the agency does not own the source code
  • 1 off-the shelf software package
  • 1 combination of custom packages, (both owned and not-owned source code)
  • 1 combination of custom (with owned source code) and off-the shelf software packages
  • 1 combination of custom (with not-owned source code) and off-the-shelf software packages
  • 1 other
