Description of Figure 5-2. SCPC Baselines in Context of "Vee" Systems Engineering Model

This figure builds on the information presented in figure 5-1. In this figure, the three categories of baselines in the Southern California Priority Corridor CM plan are correlated to the overall systems engineering life cycle "vee" model. The functional baseline controls the system-of-systems level and the corridor-wide configuration items. The allocated baseline controls the system level and project level configuration items. The product baseline controls the detailed design of developed software, hardware, or firmware.
