Without proper communication between the rail and trucking industry, the railroads proposed high tech safety system will do little to prevent crashes at road crossings. Trucks get in accidents at highway-rail crossings about 10 times a week in the United States. There few laws that regulate the where rails and roads intersect. The NTSB has been making regulation recommendations for years, but has had little success in getting any new laws passed. |
