In 2013, the Virginia Department of Transportation began studying the use of up 45% of reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP) in asphalt surface mixtures. Currently, only 30% RAP can be used without a change in the virgin binder grade. The early performance testing of high RAP mixtures showed positive results in rutting resistance and low values for international roughness index. |
