Moving Ahead for Progress in the 21st Century (MAP-21) instructs the USDOT to plan freight investments more systematically. One of USDOT's approaches to addressing systematic investments is through the introduction of the Freight Policy Council. This council will represent freight stakeholders across modes and assist in developing a national plan for improving freight movement by listening to freight stakeholders from different states, freight and logistics industries, businesses, and by listening to the consumers. |
