Description |
Freight railroads in the Northeast United States are beginning to progress on their post-Hurricane Sandy recovery efforts. Several railroads have resumed service to areas dreamed safe. However, railroads warned that after-effects of the storm may cause delays for some time. Service in some areas of New York and New Jersey are still halted due to high water, downed trees, and power failures. Further, heavy snow in the higher elevations of West Virginia adds to the delays. |
