This letter transmits the 6-month Maine and Vermont Interstate Heavy Truck Pilot Study the Congress requested in the December 16, 2009, Conference Report accompanying the fiscal year (FY) 2010 Consolidated Appropriations Act.
Section 194 of the FY 2010 Consolidated Appropriations Act authorized a 1-year pilot program from December 16, 2009, to December 17, 2010, and required a 6-month report for both States on bridge safety and weight impacts of the program. The enclosed report was prepared by Federal Highway Administration staff, along with Maine State Department of Transportation and the Vermont Agency of Transportation staff, and responds to the request for a 6-month report.
An identical letter has been sent to the Ranking Member of the Senate Committee on Appropriations; the Chairman and Ranking Member of the Senate Subcommittee on Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, and Related Agencies; the Chairman and Ranking Member of the House Committee on Appropriations, and the Chairman and Ranking Member of the House Subcommittee on Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, and Related Agencies.
