Policy, Planning, and Finance

The Office of Freight Management and Operations works closely with other FHWA offices and with other parts of the Department to develop freight policy to ensure efficient and safe freight mobility. The Office of Freight Management and Operations jointly with other FHWA offices assists state DOTs and metropolitan planning organizations (MPOs) to incorporate freight into their planning and project programming processes.
