USDOT Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) released its Freight Transportation Services Index (TSI) for September, 2016. The index, which is based on the amount of freight carried by the for-hire transportation industry, fell for the second straight month by 0.6 percent. The index dropped due to declines in trucking, pipeline and rail intermodal; however, air freight, water, and rail carloads rose during the same period. |
