The American Road & Transportation Builders Association (ARTBA) reports that roughly 56,000 bridges nationwide (9%) were deemed structurally deficient last year. The report was based on a review of the U.S. Department of Transportation's 2016 National Bridge Inventory data. The report also indicated that 173,000 bridges (28%) are over 50 years old and have not undergone major reconstruction. |
