On December 11, 2018, $1.5 billion in Better Utilizing Investments to Leverage Development (BUILD) grants were awarded to 91 projects in 49 states and the District of Columbia. Criteria for selection included safety, economic competitiveness, quality of life, environmental protection and state of good repair. Rural projects were prioritized because of historical underinvestment in rural communities. |
