The USDOT Office of the Assistant Secretary for Research and Technology (RITA) Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) published the May 2019 Freight Transportation Services Index (TSI) on July 11, 2019. The TSI fell 0.7 percent from April to May 2019. It was the second consecutive month the TSI declined. The May decline was driven by decreases in rail carloads, rail intermodal, trucking and water. Air freight and pipeline increase during the period. |
