In an effort to improve rural access to federal grant funds, the U.S. Department of Transportation developed an Application Toolkit (Toolkit) for the Rural Opportunities to Use Transportation for Economic Success (ROUTES) Initiative. Roads in rural areas carry 50% of the nation's truck traffic and have 70% of America's road miles. The Toolkit was designed to help rural stakeholders understand how to access the Department's grants and financing products. |
