The United States Department of Transportation's Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) reported there were 10.4 million commercial truck border crossings from Mexico into the United States in 2011, 1.7 percent more than in 2010. This 1.7 percent increase follows a 9.4 percent increase in 2010 and two years of decline in 2008 and 2009. Information on border crossing has been collected by the BTS since the signing of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) in 1994, and this information is assessable in form of an online tool from BTS. |
