The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) and Washington State University (WSU) have produced a report highlighting effects on the regional economy if congestion on Washington State's highways continue to grow. Of the over 1,000 freight-dependent businesses surveyed in the development of this report, nearly 60 percent of those respondents indicated that increases in costs due to congestion would be passed on through to the consumer by raising prices on goods and services. |
