Maryland has become the second state in the nation to issue electronic hauling (e-hauling) permits for the trucking industry. These permits can be displayed in electronic format during inspections reducing paper use and Maryland's carbon footprint. Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA) estimates that the use of e-hauling permits may save nearly 50,000 sheets of paper each month. |
