The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) is conducting research to better identify truck parking availability. Through the use of cameras to identify available parking spaces, a project web site, in-cab messaging, and changeable message signs, MnDOT plans to test whether better information regarding the availability of truck parking improves driver ability to find parking. The cameras will be active in select truck parking areas through April 2013 with the research scheduled to be completed by the end of 2013. |
