Description |
The Illinois Department of Transportation recently broke ground for a Chicago Regional Environmental and Transportation Efficiency (CREATE) grade separation effort including an intersection reconstruction and the construction of a 131-foot single-span bridge to eliminate an existing grade crossing. The goal of this project is to improve mobility of both freight trains and automotive traffic near O'Hare International Airport. Currently, an average of 25 freight trains pass through this grade crossing each day delaying 6,400 vehicles. |
