The Port of Virginia has completed its best fiscal-year performance in its history with a growth of 10 percent in container volume from the previous fiscal year. The Port cited several of reasons for this success, including: ocean carriers taking advantage of the Port's 50-foot deep channels, an increasing number of first-in and last-out vessel calls, the Port's expanding rail service and overall footprint, and the improving economy. |
