The South Carolina Ports Authority (SCPA) has announced a new Clean Truck Certification Program beginning in 2014 in an effort to continue reducing port-related air emissions. This program will require all trucks serving the container terminals to have engines manufactured in 1994 or later. The SCPA will continue to offer a $5,000 incentive in addition to the scrap value to truck owners to upgrades their vehicles. To date, this program has replaced 84 trucks manufactured prior to 1994. |
