The Florida Department of Transportation has completed a report investigating the use of truck GPS data for us in statewide freight modeling and planning applications. Specifically, this project calculated average truck speeds for Florida's Strategic Intermodal System, developed algorithms to estimate number of truck trips from raw GPS records, analyzed truck travel characteristics, developed truck origin-destination tables for Florida, and conducted preliminary analysis for truck traffic flows from Florida's seaports. |
