A coalition of transportation and industrial trade associations has found that long standing container handling problems at 29 U.S. West Coast seaports is causing manufacturers in the Midwest to slow and even stop production lines due to delays in receiving containers from the West Coast. It is possible that the disruptions can have long-lasting effects by scaring away potential overseas customers and giving international competitors an advantage. |
