The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration's (FMCSA) goal is to reduce crashes, injuries, and fatalities involving large trucks and buses. Most recently, the FMCSA has been working on directing its resources towards carriers that are at a higher risk of causing a crash. This study is an overview of two of its larger programs the Compliance, Safety, Accountability (CSA) and chameleon carrier vetting programs, their limitations, and how the programs can be improved. |
