Missouri Expands Move Over Law to Include Highway Workers

Description:	Missouri recently enacted into law an expansion of its 2002 "Slow Down and Move Over" law to add highway work. The law previously addressed enforcement and emergency response vehicles parked on the side of the road, and now also includes Missouri DOT vehicles parked with amber and white lights flashing. The revised law takes effect August 28 and requires motorists to slow down or change lanes when approaching these vehicles. Passage of the law was the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission's highest priority during the 2012 legislative session.
